Course Overview

This course equips manufacturing industry professionals with advanced knowledge and practical tools to design, manage, and improve technology-driven operations systems, ensuring efficiency, quality, and competitiveness in global manufacturing contexts. It integrates lean principles, Industry 4.0 technologies, supply chain agility, and operational excellence frameworks, preparing leaders to transform operations strategically.

Module 2: Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma (0.5 ECTS)

  • Lean principles: waste elimination, value stream mapping

  • Application of lean tools in chemical, textiles, and agrochemical manufacturing

Module 3: Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing (1 ECTS)

  • Overview of Industry 4.0 and its relevance to manufacturing
  • IoT, sensors, and predictive maintenance
  • AI and machine learning applications in operations
  • Digital twins and factory simulation tools
  • Cybersecurity considerations in smart manufacturing

Module 4: Supply Chain and Operations Planning (0.5 ECTS)

Capstone Project Alignment

Learners will develop a Technology and Operations Improvement Plan for their manufacturing unit or a simulated environment, focusing on:

  • Sustainability and EHS alignment within operations

Certification

On completion, learners will receive:

  • “Technology and Operations Management for Manufacturing Industry Leaders” module certificate with 3 ECTS credits under Mentogram’s Global TEMBA, recognized under European Standards and Guidelines.
