Course Overview

This course empowers manufacturing professionals with advanced leadership capabilities to effectively lead themselves, teams, and organizations amidst the complexities of global manufacturing environments. It integrates leadership theories, emotional intelligence, people management, organizational culture, and change management with practical manufacturing leadership scenarios to build leaders who can drive sustainable business outcomes.

Module 1: Foundations of Leadership in Manufacturing (0.5 ECTS – 5 hours + 7.5 hours)

  • Leadership vs. management in manufacturing contexts
  • Leadership theories: transformational, transactional, situational
  • Leadership styles and their impact on manufacturing outcomes

Module 2: Emotional Intelligence and Self-Leadership (0.5 ECTS – 5 hours + 7.5 hours)

  • Self-awareness and self-regulation
  • Empathy and social skills for leaders
  • Mindfulness and resilience in leadership
  • Personal leadership development plans

Module 3: Building and Leading Teams (0.75 ECTS – 7.5 hours + 10 hours)

  • Team dynamics and stages of team development
  • Leading cross-functional and multicultural teams in manufacturing
  • Motivation theories and practical applications (Herzberg, Maslow, McClelland)
  • Managing conflicts and facilitating collaboration

Module 4: Organizational Culture and Dynamics (0.5 ECTS – 5 hours + 7.5 hours)

  • Practical change leadership case studies from manufacturing industries

Module 6: Leadership for Operational Excellence (0.25 ECTS – 2.5 hours + 5 hours)

  • Coaching and mentoring teams for Kaizen and Lean implementation
  • Sustaining performance improvements through leadership
